So…we made it. I’m a little bit late, but this is it.
This the final song of the first volume of TEMPLE.
That means 1 (almost) whole year of music. In total it’s 9 songs, which is enough for a full album!
That’s crazy. That’s wild. That’s exciting.
Anyway — Volume 2 starts in June.
Don’t worry, I’ve still got some surprises for May though.

What to say about this month’s piece? I really think the big talking point is that I wanted to capture a tangible feeling with this one. Usually I opt for making more of a story, or a part of a story, but this art piece carries emotion to me. I’m sure there’s a story in it, but to me it gives bittersweet nostalgia. A longing for either a new home or an old one. The sweet calm that comes over you as watch the trees rush by the train window. That’s what I went for.
On the production side of things, I took more of a minimalist approach to this one opting or rhythms that felt very train like, a wash of dreamy and familiar voices, a warm piano, emotional strings, and only drums that add a grounding weight or feel like the occasional clack of the wheel over the tracks.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find a source or any information about where this came or who made it. I’ll continue to look and add the credits as if/when I’m able to find them. If you happen to know, do a dog a favor and drop a comment!
Just a reminder that all of the photos from this volume (and future volumes too) are up on Cosmos!
Anyway, enjoy what feel like the best closing piece of music to Volume 1 I could’ve possibly hoped to make.

Until next time, friends!
Stay happy. Stay puppin’. Stay waggin’.
