Hej, hi, hello and welcome to 2025!

I hope the holiday months were good to you and let me be one of the many emails that warmly welcome you into the new year! In my little break I did some thinking and decided that this year the photo of the month will also serve as the visual inspiration for each issues piece of music. I’ve also taken out the “Sight” section from the Seeds category, as well as the poem. These changes will help streamline things a little bit on the backend while also encouraging new music to be made because there’s far less outside things for me to focus on. Everybody wins!

So let’s get into it!

☾ | This month’s piece was written in A Minor, 4/4 at 120 BPM

This month’s track was interesting because I haven’t written to any sort of image/brief in long time, so it was a bit of a messy process to get sounds and chords that really matched the image. In the end though I think I got there. There’s also some lovely Icelandic poetry in the intro1 with some fun watery sound design overtop, as well as the sound of the falls itself.

I snapped this way back in 2021 on a trip to Iceland, and got very very wet in the process. Not nearly as wet as the random person in the photo who was brave enough to venture nearly to base of this awesome giant though.

There’s also a lot of other photos on my profile that I’ve tossed up that would otherwise have sat on the shelf collecting bit rot.
